Definitions
In this document:
“Authorized Dealer” means a dealer or distributor approved by UFLEX
“UFLEX” means UFLEX s.r.l. - via Milite Ignoto 8/A -16012 Busalla – GE, Italy P.IVA/C.F. IT 02923990101
“Product” refers to UFLEX supercapacitor storage systems
Product Warranty
The warranty includes:
five (5) years on the Product, extendable by another 5 years for a fee.
This warranty begins on the invoice date of the Product.
This warranty does not include any accessories and/or tool kits supplied with the Product.
UFLEX will repair or replace the Product if it is found to be defective and the defect is reported during the warranty period. The repaired or replaced product will continue to be covered by the remaining warranty period. In no event will the renewal of the warranty period be justified.
Warranty Extension
The Warranty Extension must be requested from UFLEX within 30 days from the invoice date of the Product and is related to the specific model and serial number. After this date it will not be possible to request it. UFLEX will provide a quotation and a proforma invoice for the amount relating to the extension.
The proforma invoice will have an expiry date of 30 days. If the invoice is not paid by the expiry date it will no longer be valid and it will not be possible to request the Warranty Extension.
Warranty Conditions
The warranties relating to the Product apply only if this:
is purchased from UFLEX or from an Authorized Reseller
has the official UFLEX serial number
is installed, used and maintained in accordance with the Product Instructions
The warranty will not be applicable if the defect, or failure, occurs due to incorrect use of the product.
Warranty Request Procedure
In the event of a defective or faulty device, during the warranty period, the Buyer must report the malfunction with a brief description of the fault by sending the attached form (“FAULT REPORTING FORM”), duly completed, by email to our Authorized Dealer or to UFLEX if purchased directly, to process the request for warranty intervention.

In order to make a claim under the warranty terms, UFLEX must receive the following information regarding the defective device:
a copy of the invoice, warranty certificate (and extension, if purchased), receipt, commissioning report or any other document providing proof of purchase
Product nameplate, model and serial number
detailed information about the system (see “fault reporting form”)
information about the error code obtainable from the defective module via the dedicated smartphone monitoring App (see “fault reporting form”)
In any case, the product must be available to be returned to UFLEX for inspection, testing and repair.
Warranty Exclusions
UFLEX excludes any liability for the Product to the extent that the damage/failure has been caused or facilitated by the following factors:
1. failure of the inverter, battery charger, charge controller or power supply or any electronic device connected to the supercapacitor storage system;
2. installation of the Product with inverters or battery chargers not certified/approved by UFLEX;
3. supercapacitor storage system not used correctly according to the Product user manual;
4. improper or negligent use of the Product, including use outside the ambient temperature conditions recommended in the user manual;
5. transportation, including falls, accidental damage, trampling, deformation, impacts or perforations;
6. product installed in a system not connected to the remote monitoring service; therefore,
not monitorable 24 hours a day;
7. storage, installation, commissioning, modification or repair of the Product not carried out by UFLEX or by an Installer certified by UFLEX;
8. abuse, improper use, accidents or force majeure events. By way of example and not limited to: lightning, floods, fires, extreme temperatures or other events outside what is foreseeable by UFLEX;
9. any tampering or physical or configuration modification of the Product without a written authorization from UFLEX;
10. removal and reinstallation in a location other than that of the original installation without a written authorization from UFLEX;
11. exposure of the Product to water, conductive dust, corrosive or explosive vapors;
12. product connected with battery modules of a different type;
13. the Product has been connected with supercapacitor storage systems not from UFLEX;
14. failure to install, use or maintain the Product in accordance with the Instructions;
15. theft of the Product or any of its components.
16. vandalism of the Product or any of its components.
17. Electrical and electronic material forming part of the system (active and passive filters, fuses, surge protectors and others) are not covered by this warranty.
General Provisions
1. Warranty costs, such as: transportation, travel and accommodation costs of our staff, as well as the costs of the Buyer's personnel, customs duties, taxes and all other import costs are excluded, are not to be borne by UFLEX.
2. Due to technological progress, the spare parts or the spare device supplied may not be compatible with the system or other components installed on site. The costs incurred, therefore, are not part of this warranty service and will not be covered by UFLEX.
3. Compensation for direct or indirect damages caused by defective equipment, including, but not limited to, compensation for costs or loss of profit caused by disassembly and installation, is not within the scope of the warranty.
4. UFLEX shall not be liable in any event for any indirect, special, consequential or punitive damages (including lost profits, disassembly and installation costs, loss of data) arising out of or relating to this Product or the transactions it contemplates, whether for breach of contract, tort, negligence or any other form of action, and whether or not we have advised you of the possibility of such damages. In no event shall UFLEX's total liability exceed the total amount of payments received from us for this product that is the subject of the claim.
